+ 1 - 7 | § Strategic Oil Reserve - Fill er Up!

Presidential candidate Kerry said today that as president he would temporarily stop filling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to ease oil prices.  What I think happened here is that he forgot about the purpose of the reserve:  in case some hostile country or entity blocked our access to oil. 

Our petroleum reserves are not to control oil prices, they are to save our country:  to allow emergency personnel, goods, and services to continue moving in the event of hostile action.  Don't reduce our national emergency preparedness level to shave off a few cents of each gas gallon. 

This is just another case of senator Kerry telling the people a nice story -- not necessarily a sensible one.

Have you thought about the value added by a Flight Attendant on your average short haul (less than 3hr) domestic flight?  I have, and I see almost none.  

They are supposed to be there "primarily for your safety, but will try to make your flight more enjoyable".  Do they really accomplish this?
